What fiber actually changes

Fiber carries your connection as light through glass, all the way to your home. In day-to-day terms, that shows up in four ways.

Upload as fast as download

Cable plans usually upload at a fraction of their download speed. Fiber is symmetrical, so video calls, cloud backups and sending big files stop being the slow part of your day.

Steady at 8pm, not just 8am

Shared neighborhood lines can slow down when everyone gets home and starts streaming. Fiber has far more headroom, so evenings feel the same as mornings.

Lower lag

Lower latency means less delay on video calls, more responsive online games, and smart-home devices that react when you tap them.

Room for every device

Phones, TVs, laptops, cameras, doorbells, game consoles. A fiber line handles a house full of them at once, and has room for whatever you add next.

How much speed do you need?

More isn't always better. Pay for what your household uses. Start with who lives there and what they do online.

300 Mbps

1–2 people

Streaming in HD and 4K, browsing, video calls, a handful of smart devices. Plenty for most smaller homes.

2 Gig and up

Big or busy households

Creators uploading large files, home offices, gamers, and homes with dozens of connected devices.

Plan names and speeds available vary by address. Your advisor will tell you which fit, including when a smaller plan is the better buy.

How to switch, with no gap in service

The biggest worry people have is being without internet. Keep your current service until the new one is working, and there's no gap.

  1. Check your address

We confirm AT&T Fiber is at your home and which plans and offers apply there.

  2. Pick a plan

We match it to how your household actually uses the internet, using the speed guide above.

  3. Schedule the install

A technician brings fiber into the home and sets up the Wi-Fi gateway. Someone 18 or older needs to be home.

  4. Then cancel the old one

Once fiber is live, cancel your old provider and return its equipment. We'll walk you through it.

Before you switch

Questions to ask any provider

Whoever you go with, get straight answers to these first. We'll answer every one before you order.

  • What will I pay after any promotional period ends?
  • Are there equipment, installation or activation fees?
  • Is there a contract or an early termination fee?
  • Is there a data cap?
  • What upload speed do I get, not just download?
  • Who do I call when something goes wrong?
FAQ

Common questions

Is AT&T Fiber available at my address?

Fiber is built street by street, so neighbors a few blocks apart can have different options. Call or text us your address and we'll check it on the spot.

Will I be without internet while I switch?

No. Keep your current service running until fiber is installed and working, then cancel. That's the order we recommend to everyone.

Will my devices need to be set up again?

Everything connects to the new Wi-Fi gateway. If you give the new network the same name and password as your old one, most devices reconnect on their own. Your installer or advisor can help.

Can I keep my phone number?

In most cases, yes. Mobile and home phone numbers can usually move to AT&T when you switch. Your advisor will check yours before you order.

Can I keep my email address?

Gmail, Outlook, iCloud and similar addresses aren't affected. If your email comes from your current internet provider, check their policy before you cancel; some let you keep it.

What if I'm under contract with my current provider?

Ask them what an early termination fee would be. We'll help you compare it against what you'd save, so you can decide whether to switch now or when the contract ends.

Does it cost anything to talk to you?

No. Talking with us is free and there's no obligation. We're an authorized AT&T dealer, so you get the same plans you'd get from AT&T directly, with a local person to call.

Met us at your door?

Every Radvisor advisor carries a photo ID badge and a card with this website on it. If you want to confirm someone is with us before you talk numbers, call (775) 771-0271 and ask. We'd rather you check.
